After a year of living in different horse trainers' barns, shoveling their manure and learning the trade, I was more fascinated by their equipment than by their horses. My 15 years of sewing experience translated seamlessly to leatherworking. By day, I have a career in therapeutic horsemanship. By night, I work out of my studio apartment, where the percentage of work, as opposed to living space, grows every day.
